Interior Sliding Doors
HGTV (Home and Garden TV, not Happy Gilmore Television) is probably my lovely bride’s favorite channel. I am guessing other folks as well, since over 80% of household in American with television receive it.
Her favorites are Property Brothers, Love it or List it, House Hunters and Flip or Flop.
One of the hot items on HGTV is decorative interior sliding barn door hardware. These are the gentrified version of the perennially popular pole barn sliding doors.
The sliding doors are perfect for bedrooms, bathrooms and other living spaces. They are available in oil rubbed bronze as well as stainless steel finishes. Built with high quality, they are designed and tested to follow ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 standards. The kits include track, hangers, doorstops, anti-jump discs and floor guides.
These sliding doors add rustic appeal to interior door openings. They become a cost effective way to add both style and privacy to open doorways. The hardware kits include all mounting hardware and components to hang one interior door up to three foot in width, or two can be placed together for openings up to six feet wide.
The flat track version is oil rubbed bronze, while tubular track comes in stainless steel. The flat version has face mounted track, while the round track is top mounted.
Either will support a door up to 200 pounds and works for 1-3/8” or 1-3/4” thick doors. Both come with limited lifetime warrantees.
Kits are hardware only and do not include either the door or the necessary header boards. While a 2×6 header is recommended, a 1×6 can also be used.
Ready to step your home (or post frame man cave) up to the HGTV level? If so, then one or more of these door kits might be just what you need.
