A New Spin on Truss Raising Winch Boxes

A New Spin on Truss Raising Winch Boxes

Long time readers will recall previous articles on a miracle for raising entire bays of roof trusses, safely and on a budget:

Hansen Pole Buildings DIYer Lee Zook, came up with his own spin on winch boxes, allowing him to crank truss bays into place from ground level.

Now I like lee’s method as he has two pulley wheels mounted to a narrow channel. For those of you who are notching a pair of trusses, into a three ply Glulaminated column, there is only about an inch of column sticking up above your notch. Lee’s channel would allow for this assembly portion to be temporarily screwed on top of this remaining portion of column.

Lee’s system has a set of four wenches and cables, rated for 1300 pounds of load per each. He is willing to sell his set for what he has into them $500 plus shipping. If interested, please reach out to Lee zooklm1@gmail.com.

Should you happen to purchase these, and desire to again resell them, please contact me and we will see how many times we can be of service to others.

Meanwhile, happy truss raising!
