A Sad Tale and What You Can Do to Help- Truss Failure
Looks pretty good, doesn’t it?
Disclaimer – this is NOT a Hansen Pole Building.
This version (same barndominium) does not look quite as nice:
What happened?
A failure of welded up steel trusses to be able to support what I would call a minimal (roughly 12 or so inches) amount of snowfall. Luckily, there were no occupants when failure occurred.

Thank you, for your considerations.
Where is the construction company’s insurance on this mess????? Why is the public urged to cover this miserable loss when it’s the construction company’s problem from start to finish? Not in a hundred years would I donate to a cause like this when all the fingers point to poor construction practices and failure of the base structure.
I don’t believe a General Contractor was involved, and even if there is one and they have adequate insurance, there will be years of finger pointing and battling between General Contractor, any associated subcontractors, product providers, etc. Chances are one of more these will be either under insured or have no liability insurance. In the end, the building owner is going to end up holding at least a portion of the bag – always works out that way.
