This is more about the amount of detail which is incorporated into the Hansen Pole Buildings’ Construction Manual, than it is about the installation of outside closures, read below, and then I will explain why.
“Place a Ridge Cap piece centered on building peak. Make a pencil mark at lower edges at both building ends, on end truss/rafter or varge rafter tops. Partially drive nails at these marks and run string lines from end-to-end of building and attach to nail heads. The stringlines will make Ridge Cap easier to align and provide a measuring point for locating form-fitted outside closure strips.
Press Outside Closure Strips into place, the building length, on both sides of peak. Closure low edge will be ¼” to ½” up from string line (confirm Ridge Cap will cover low edge of closure when installed). Cut off any closure within 2-1/4” of outside edge of endwall framing. (Any closure in this area will interfere with rake trim.) “
Whether you construct one of our buildings, or not, those instructions will not only save hours of time, they will also result in a job done perfectly.
How is it I know this?
I am not psychic. I’ve either built or provided the design and materials for well over 17,000 pole or post frame buildings. It is a big number. Big enough for me to have made, or heard, of nearly every possible mistake which could ever be thought of.
Plus, each of our clients has gone over every single word, process, diagram and photo in our Manual.
Who cares this much?
We do.
Look at the Hansen Pole Buildings’ website……seriously. Who in the right mind would give away so much information and ask for nothing in return?
We do.
Long ago we realized helping others (especially competitors) is good for business. The better view the public has of post frame buildings, the more post frame buildings will be constructed.
I’m a “no pooh” kinda guy. I don’t often toot the horn of those I work with, but I will this once. We all really care. If we actually are shown something which is better and cost effective, we’ll be offering it so fast your head will remind you of Linda Blair.
There is only one best…..everyone else is first loser.
